Learning Disability Friendly Practice

We are delighted to announce that Newbold Verdon Medical Practice was awarded a Learning Disability Friendly Gold Award in April 2025. The panel noted a 'clear commitment to improving outcomes for people with learning disabilities and autism'.

They would like to use some of our responses within the application as examples of what a gold standard Practice looks like. We were praised for the 'detail, leadership and outcomes which are setting a great standard'.

We have been encouraged by the panel to build in more structured lived experience feedback for people with a learning disability or autism so please do email us at newbold.verdon@nhs.net with any comments, for the attention of the learning disability and autism team.

We have also been selected to take part in a new pilot study creating a combined health checks encompassing learning disability, mental health and autism. This is an exciting development and we will update on this once we have completed the pilot scheme.
