Take control of your healthcare with the NHS App

The NHS App is the official, free NHS app — the simple, secure way to manage your health from your phone or tablet. Anyone aged 13 or over who is registered with a GP surgery in England can use it. If you prefer not to download an app, you can use all the same services by logging in at nhs.uk.

What you can do with it

  • Order repeat prescriptions — and choose the pharmacy your prescriptions go to
  • Book and manage GP appointments
  • See your GP health record — including test results, consultation notes and letters
  • Contact us online about a health problem and get a response — without phoning
  • Receive messages from the surgery, so you never miss anything important
  • Manage hospital care — view referrals, check and change hospital appointments, and see waiting times
  • Help someone you care for — linked profiles let you manage care for children or relatives
  • Check symptoms and get trusted NHS advice, including 111 online

Keeping your data secure

You prove who you are once with NHS login, and then your information stays protected. If your device supports fingerprint or face recognition you can use that to log in. Your record is only visible to you — and to the people you choose to share it with.
